How to Generate Marksheets and Transfer Certificates Digitally
Stop typing results by hand. Learn how schools generate marksheets, report cards and transfer certificates (TC) digitally from existing student records.

In short
The fastest way to produce marksheets and transfer certificates is to enter marks once and let the software calculate totals, percentages and grades, then fill certificates from the student's existing record. The result is fewer typing errors, consistent branding and a digital register of every certificate issued.
Results week and admission season have one thing in common: a lot of documents produced under time pressure. Marksheets, report cards and transfer certificates (TCs) all repeat information the school already has, yet many offices still type them from scratch.
Why manual result preparation causes errors
When results are prepared in a word processor or spreadsheet, the same student details are typed again and again. Every retyped name, roll number or date of birth is a chance for a mistake, and every manual total is a chance for a miscalculation that a parent will spot before you do.
How digital marks entry works
A digital result process has three steps:
- Set up the exam. Define the subjects, maximum marks and grading criteria once.
- Enter marks. Teachers or office staff enter marks subject by subject. Validation stops values above the maximum.
- Generate marksheets. Totals, percentages and grades are calculated automatically and placed into a branded template, ready to print or download as a PDF.
Because the calculations are automatic, checking results becomes a matter of reviewing the marks entered, not re-adding every column.
What should a marksheet include?
A clear marksheet or report card usually shows:
- the school name, logo and session,
- student name, class, section and roll number,
- marks per subject against the maximum,
- total, percentage and grade,
- remarks and signatures.
Keep the layout identical for every student. Consistency makes results easier for parents to read and harder to tamper with.
Generating transfer certificates
A transfer certificate repeats details from the admission record: name, parents' names, date of birth, admission date, class last attended and so on. When the TC is generated from that record:
- details are filled in automatically, so they always match the admission register,
- the school seal and format stay consistent,
- and every TC issued is recorded in a digital TC register you can search later.
